Four Bruin basketball players sign to play in college

This afternoon, students and faculty converged on the East Atrium as the most successful senior class in Bruin girls’ basketball history signed their letters of intent to continue competing at the collegiate level.
Sisters Kayla Cheadle and Chayla Cheadle signed with the University of Kansas, Chayla for basketball and Kayla for volleyball, Audrey Holt signed with Missouri State University and Bri Porter will be playing at the University of Missouri.  The ceremony was emotional as each player thanked a number of people who had impacted them in their careers.
“It wasn’t easy getting here, and it wasn’t cheap,” Chayla Cheadle said, tears flowing.  “I want to thank everyone that made this day possible.”
“The University of Kansas saw things in me that I didn’t see in me,” Kayla Cheadle said.  “For that I’m truly thankful.”
The girls’ basketball coach, Jill Nagel introduced introduced beach player. Nagel, who provided insight into each of the athlete’s careers, wished them luck in their future endeavors.  Each player then went to the podium and gave a short speech before being joined by their parents and signing their letters of intent.
“It’s a great day,” Holt said.  “It’s a day I’m glad is finally here.”
The ceremony is the second of four signing ceremonies that will take place at RBHS over the next seven days.  Yesterday, six members of the Bruin volleyball and softball teams signed with their colleges,  and next week wrestlers Sam Crane and Quinn Smith will sign. Even later next week, members of the swimming and diving team will make their commitments official as well.
