[vc_text_separator title=”Hall of Leaders introduces 12 new members” border_width=”2″]Ranging from 25 to 80, the Hall of Leaders inducted 12 new members with a lot of passion for CPS Oct. 15 in the RBHS auditorium. The theme for the event was “Night of Stars,” featuring music from a RBHS string quartet, the RBHS jazz band and the fall musical, Barnum.
The new inductees were composed of outstanding CPS volunteers, alumni, and retired educators. Shana Far, the youngest inductee, attended CPS throughout her elementary and secondary schooling and went on to perform in national companies. She currently lives in New York City with her one-year-old son and husband and designs jewelry.
An older inductee, James Nunley, attended CPS when segregation was still in place. He spoke of this injustice, but also of the drive it gave him to guarantee that his posterior did not suffer the same separation.
Besides highlighting these unique individuals, the night serves as a fundraiser for the CPS Foundation. The event cost $75 per attendee and the money will all go towards enriching CPS.[TS_VCSC_Lightbox_Gallery content_images=”276767,276768,276769,276770,276771,276772,276773,276774,276776,276777,276778,276779,276780″ content_images_size=”full” content_images_titles=”Sophomore Helen Keithahn plays the violin as part of a string quartet.
