On October 23rd, the officers of HOSA went to a Fall Leadership Conference in Warrengton MO to learn more about how to lead their chapters. 
Prior to 2004, HOSA was Health Occupations Students of America. Now HOSA is now identified as HOSA: An Association of Health Science Students. It is an organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
The board members and officers for HOSA this year are:
Elaine Phillips- President
Devesh Kumar- Vice President
Lisa Zhuang- Treasurer
Jack Gabel- Secretary
Michael Pannella- Historian
Emily Getzoff- Publicist
Sonya Hu- Member-At-Large
Marilise Stamps- Member-At-Large
Two additional members of HOSA went to the conference to learn more about leadership qualities for being an officer of HOSA next year. These include Divya Divya and Yash Khanna.[vc_images_carousel images=”277323,277324,277325,277326,277327,277328,277329,277330″] Every two weeks, I will be publishing a photo blog highlighting various clubs and activities that go on at RBHS.
On October 9-10, RBHS Speech and Debate had their first debate tournament. Many individual broke and moved on to finals. It was a success for Rock Bridge High School. People broke in various different events:
Michael Pennella – 1st Place Varsity Original Oratory Interpretation
Matthew Vincent & Anthony Robinson – 2nd Place Varsity Public Forum Debate
Anthony Robinson & Elizabeth Zenner – 4th Place Varsity Duo Interpretation
Shray Kumar – 6th Place in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking
Sonya Hu – 6th Place in Varsity Prose Interpretation
Madison Hopper – 4th Place Novice Original Oratory/5th Place in Novice Radio Speaking
Henry Huang – 5th Place Novice Original Oratory
“For the first tournament of the year, I think this tournament was a great tournament. Definitely, there were a lot of things that we need to work on but I think it was a really good opportunity for us to see how much we’ve grown over the summer and over the year. I think that our team did really well and that we have a lot of things that we can do really well this coming year,” Kristine Cho, a sophomore varsity debate, said.
