As another year rolls around at RBHS, so do the annual events that come with it. The second annual Dance Marathon is one that refuses to be swept under the rug. The event will take place on Dec. 14 and all proceeds will go to the University of Missouri-Columbia Women’s and Children’s Hospital.  Students are confident the event will be just as successful as last year’s.

“We had a pretty good turnout last year; considering how big of a project it was, we ended up getting a lot of people there,” Student Body President Carmel Shaka said.

The event is also captivating the interests of those new to RBHS, enticing sophomores. Many who did not participate in Dance Marathon last year are eager to attend.

“I like charity, and I love dancing. I really don’t see a downside to it,” sophomore Julian Hoelscher said. “I know that I’m only one of the many new students at Rock Bridge that love the idea of a Dance-a-thon.”

Not only are students excited for the benefits of the event ,  but also the positive image it projects for RBHS. Dance Marathon, according to junior Cameron Warder, promotes a spirit of generosity and charity from the school in a fun and friendly manner.

“It helps people see the more philanthropic side of RBHS,”  Warder said, “showing everyone that we like to help out, and have fun while doing it.”
