Fashion has enjoyed an interesting week. With the sudden flux in temperatures and even rapider decline, students have worn anything from dresses and tank tops to sweaters and sweatpants over the last several days. So it was a special challenge to find a trendy Style of the Week, one that represented a pairing of both a summer and winter classic. Junior Victoria Vizcarra, working on a project in the computer lab, fit the bill nicely. Wearing a black long-sleeved top and a short, red skirt, her combination of “hot and cold” was exactly what we were looking for.

Name: Victoria Vizcarra, junior

Shirt: Forever 21

Skirt: Forever 21

Tights: Aerie

Boots: Marshalls

Favorite store: Francesca’s

Best buy: Fur jacket purchased for 60% off in Korea

“I just like [fashion] because it makes me feel better about myself,” Vizcarra said. “I want to say it’s because you can use clothes to express yourself … but basically I just like clothes because I like shopping.”

  1. I like style of the week but I think you should have different people pick because some of the people you’ve picked so far are wearing similar clothes. Or you should find someone wearing something really unique because I feel like every week it’s a girl wearing f21.

I have no problem with the girls all wearing f21,bc just bc one buy clothes from the same shop doesn’t mean their all the same, but overall i agree. a lot of ur styles picks aren’t unique- and sometimes it seems u pick something different just bc it’s different, not bc its stylish. Style of the Week should be unique AND fashionable. not either/or. The column has a lot of potential and could really showcases rock bridge’s diversity (not in race i meant in fashion sense), and it’s sad to see it wasted on the same old-same old. (not that the picks aren’t cute or fashionable, but their all the same- be a lil’ more versatile :) )
